The SBSAR Foundation
Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue is ready 24/7 — but they don’t get a paycheck.
They’re 100% volunteer. Teachers. Business owners. Retirees. Every mission they launch is fueled by training, teamwork, and grit — not public funding. That’s where we come in.
The SBSAR Foundation exists to keep the team Rescue Ready:
Funding gear, UTVs, ropes, radios, and mission supplies
Supporting advanced training and certifications
Ensuring our team can respond to any emergency, anytime
When they get the call, they go. No questions asked.
This fundraiser helps them come home safe — and ready for the next one.
Donations made to the Santa Barbara Search and Rescue Foundation, a fiscal sponsorship fund at the Santa Barbara Foundation, an organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a charity under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code, are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Our Mission
To provide vital support to the SBCSAR team, ensuring they can continue their life-saving work 24/7, all year round. This support includes:
Funding for essential equipment, comprehensive training programs, and necessary operational resources.
By equipping these dedicated volunteers with the tools and knowledge they need, we help maintain their readiness to respond to emergencies at any time, day or night, in both urban and backcountry settings.
Why it Matters
SBCSAR is the only search and rescue group in Santa Barbara County not supported by any other foundation or organization.
As one of the few all-volunteer groups in the area, their dedication and bravery save lives and bring closure to families during their most difficult moments.
Join Us
We invite you to join our mission. Your donations, volunteer efforts, and advocacy make a significant difference. Together, we can ensure that the SBCSAR team has the support they need to continue their lifesaving work.
